Signa SDK

The Signa SDK software library suite is designed for owners and developers of document management systems (DMS) and other information systems (IS) who wish to integrate functionality for creating, signing, and verifying electronic documents, as well as other document management features, into their systems.

Using the Signa SDK libraries allows DMS/IS developers to avoid the need for additional resources when designing and implementing solutions that meet the specific and technically complex requirements of electronic document and electronic signature management. Signa SDK libraries are continuously updated to adapt to changing specifications and standards for electronic documents and signatures, as well as to evolving and emerging new electronic signature creation methods.

Stationary qualified electronic signature devices:

• Lithuanian, Latvian, and Estonian personal identity cards of all modifications;
• All types of qualified stationary electronic signature devices and qualified certificates issued in Lithuania (currently, these are USB devices issued by the State Enterprise Centre of Registers);
• Qualified stationary electronic signature devices and qualified certificates issued by at least one qualified certification service provider in 23 European Union countries.

Mobile qualified electronic signature devices:

• Mobile-ID (mobile electronic signature) – mobile devices with SIM cards provided by SK ID Solutions registration services (mobile network operators).

Remote qualified electronic signature devices:

• LT ID – virtual remote signing devices from the State Enterprise Centre of Registers;
• Smart-ID – SK ID Solutions virtual remote signing devices;
• SimplySign virtual remote signature devices (Certum, Poland);
• Zeal virtual remote signature devices.

Signa SDK libraries are implemented in the Java programming language and can be used directly in systems developed in this language. The Java-ready libraries enable the processing of electronic documents in all of the mentioned specifications and formats.

Signa SDK also offers a version adapted for use on the .NET platform, enabling users to work with electronic documents in the ADOC format.

If the information system you are developing uses a different programming language or framework, and integrating the Signa SDK libraries into it would be difficult or impossible, we can recommend using the Signa Platform API.

Yes, Signa SDK enables the preparation of electronic signatures and seals found in electronic documents and containers of various specifications for long-term preservation. This is done by embedding data confirming the validity of the signatures and applying qualified time stamps, as required by the relevant standards. The qualified time-stamping service used is specified by the IS administrator or developer.

Preparing electronic signatures for long-term preservation and further retention is a complex process that requires ongoing “maintenance” of the stored documents. Instead of implementing this complex process within an information system, MitSoft can offer Qualified Long-Term Preservation Services. These services can also be used if the Signa SDK cannot be used in the information system being developed due to programming language limitations.

Yes, Signa SDK includes methods that enable user authentication using electronic signature means: stationary, mobile, and remote signing devices. These methods allow you to retrieve the certificate of the user being authenticated and the associated data, thereby identifying the user of the information system.

If Signa SDK cannot be used in the system under development due to programming language limitations, we can offer the MitSoft TSP services, which implement authentication functionality.

No, Signa SDK defines only software objects and methods for managing electronic documents. Using these, the information system developer must independently create a user interface that displays information about the electronic document, its content, metadata, and electronic signatures. Other processes related to electronic document management must also be implemented independently: applying time stamps, preparing electronic signatures for long-term validity, verifying documents, and so on.

If you need to use user interface elements designed for working with electronic documents, you can acquire them using the Signa Platform API.

A license for using Signa SDK is purchased for a single deployment of an information system. The license price depends on the number of users in the deployment and starts at 1500 EUR. The minimum license covers up to 10 users, and the maximum covers 1,000 users or a public service with an unknown number of users. The license is purchased once, but to receive future library updates and MitSoft technical support, an annual fee of 15% of the license price applies.

The price of Signa SDK is also influenced by the selected set of supported electronic document specifications and other features: ADOC, PDF/PDF-LT, ASiC, and support for the European Trusted List (TL).

The cost of signing with a qualified electronic signature, user authentication, and qualified time stamps is not included in the license price. The rates for signing and authentication services are specified in the MitSoft TSP presentation. MitSoft can also offer qualified time-stamping services.
