Signa Platform API

The Signa Platform API is designed for owners and developers of document management and other information systems that require the creation and signing of electronic documents with a qualified electronic signature. This API consists of a set of operations that define a unified interface for working with electronic documents, regardless of their format. API is implemented as REST-style operations, invoked using standard HTTP requests, making it easy to integrate into information systems, regardless of their implementation framework or programming language.

The Signa Platform API is implemented as a set of REST-style operations: create, check, download, and delete. Operations are invoked using standard HTTP requests, passing their parameters and receiving structured responses in JSON format. Operations requiring interactive user actions are invoked by redirecting the user’s browser to them.

The Signa Platform API can be used in two ways:

1. Manage and execute document signing processes within an integrated system, using API operations as tools to implement those processes. Users log in to the information system and use API operations from there.
2. Users have accounts in the Signa Platform system, and the integrating system uses an API to upload documents to Signa Platform and present them to the relevant users for signing. In this case, users log in directly to Signa Platform and use this system as a document signing environment.

Signa Platform API operations support the same qualified electronic signature creation devices as the Signa Platform system:

• Lithuanian, Latvian, and Estonian personal identity cards of all modifications;
• All types of qualified stationary electronic signature devices and qualified certificates issued in Lithuania (currently, these are USB devices issued by the State Enterprise Centre of Registers);
• Qualified stationary electronic signature devices and qualified certificates issued by at least one qualified certification service provider in 23 European Union countries;
• Mobile-ID (mobile electronic signature) – mobile devices with SIM cards provided by SK ID Solutions registration services (mobile network operators);
• Smart-ID – SK ID Solutions virtual remote signing devices;
• LT ID – virtual remote signing devices from the State Enterprise Centre of Registers.

When signing with stationary electronic signature devices (smart cards, USB cryptographic keys), the necessary device drivers must be installed on the user’s workstation. During the first signing attempt, you may be prompted to install additional software (a browser extension).

The appearance of the signing user interface, which is presented when the user's browser is redirected to Signa Platform API operations, can be changed by adapting its style to the needs of the integrating information system. The signing interface offers several ways to display the content to be signed and the signing methods selection, allowing you to choose the most suitable one for the integrating system.

The Signa Platform API signing user interface is adaptive, so signing actions can be performed on smart devices with smaller screens. Please note that some signing methods may not be available for signing on such devices (for example, stationary electronic signature creation devices).

Signatures created using the Signa Platform API are prepared for long-term validity by adding time stamps. Our services use time stamps from the MitSoft qualified time-stamping service to ensure that the signature will be valid for at least 5 years from the moment of signing.

To ensure that electronic signatures are valid for a longer period of time, you can use the MitSoft qualified long-term preservation services for qualified electronic signatures and electronic seals.

There is no subscription fee. You are charged only for the services you use (prices exclude VAT):

• The fee for creating a single qualified electronic signature and preparing it for storage is 0.20 EUR.
• The fee for preparing a PDF copy of a single electronic document is 0.20 EUR.
• The fee for verifying the validity of electronic signatures on a single signed electronic document is 0.10 EUR.
• Once the monthly storage volume of documents reaches 1 GB, the monthly fee for storing this volume of documents is 1 EUR per GB.
